This space is to write some real life stuff about myself, without messing about with 'funky-lame' shit like my other links. It is something that I never intended to do in the past. If you dont really wanna know about the real person behind the Jammm nickname then simply visit the ABOUT ME link without reading anything here :) ... if you do however stay then you will get an inside of who Petros is for real outside the internet and IRC. I guess that if you read all the things below you will get bored before you know it. However, I am sure that my true friends will like it.
Why this page?
Well ... I started this homepage about 2.5 years ago with a single page and I kept building on it ever since. Somehow it ended up in most of the big search engines and I also had it in my quit message on IRC. I also have the #Chatparty (my Undernet IRC channel) page on here. Because of all this it started attracting more and more people averaging to 10-15 new visitors every day. For some pages this number may be small but for me 350 or so new visitors every month is A LOT.
I have always wanted to have it BANNER FREE and so it has been. I am also a big supporter of good fun text over the design. In other words I believe that a good homepage is one where people find actual things to read with enjoyment and NOT one where there is a SHOW OFF design with only a couple of standard lines and a shitload of links that noone ever visits anyway.
This homepage reflects myself and I am proud of what I have finally done. Through here I have made myself known to many hundreds of new people all over the world and made many good friends.
Why am I making this page now? ... well I still don't know. I just feel like doing it. After having a Jammm page for 2.5 years, I believe it is time to show who I really am :)
Most people on IRC usually try to be something that they are not; by either acting tough, pretending to be big studs or horny babes, trying to put down people so that they appear to be stronger or better and so many other things. Myself I have always been Real - in the sense that I see the other person - regardless of his origin, age or sex - for who he/she REALLY is. I have always expected Trust and Non-Selfishness from my so-called 'cyber friends' the same way that I treat and respect them.Maybe this is why I have met so many people online and made so many 'friends' who like me and trust me. But I have discovered that many such friends were fake or just wanted things in return. Only a handful of them are what I would call REAL friends whom I can trust with anything. So my conclusion is that at the end of the day Real Friends are your Real Life friends with only a few exceptions.
Why spend so much time online then?
Again many people may think that Online Chats like IRC/ICQ etc. are for pathetic loners who have no life of their own. Well, this is UTTERLY wrong. It is an addiction, it is fun, it is like a cyber-game with unpredictable characters, which characters happen to be real persons sitting on a PC somewhere in the world interacting with you and many others at the same time. I may spend so much time online and many may think that the internet is my life. WRONG! .. I have my life and it is much better and more exciting than many of the rest people that I have met online- socially - familywise - friendswise and so on. But the fact that I use the Net a lot is because i LOVE it. I love chatting - I love meeting people - I love surfing webpages - i love the free fload of information on the net - and so many more. So I do something that I enjoy. Others may spend endless hours watching football games on TV, or practicing on their guitar, or smoking dope, or playing a PC game, or playing a cards game or ... or ... or ... noone ever nags them about it. SO THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I LOVE DOING SO I DO IT :)
Who is Petros ?
After finishing school and my 2 year mandatory army service in Cyprus, I went to the University of Manchester in England where I did my first degree in Accounting and Finance (BA Honours). Then I worked as part of my course in London for 2 years and after taking a year off for some personal matter I attended the FT - LONDON college for another 2 years where I qualified in March 2001 as a Certified Accountant (ACCA).
So what are my plans now? ... I still don't know. I will probably work in London for another year or so to get some more work experience before returning back home for good. (This will be updated as things develop)
I have had an excellent childhood and the best parents one could have, whom I love and respect enormously. I value my real life friends many of whom I will mention further down.
My life however was struck by two big sudden unexpexted blows. I lost my two beloved brothers with whom I was very close. Lee flew away at the age of 18, and Alexis, with whom I had developed a much stronger bond after losing Lee, lost a big and brave fight against leukemia at the age of 21.
All this made me reconsider the meaning and philosophy of life, and I have developed some ideas that I wouldn't like to go through now. But in some general words it has made me a stronger and wiser person. For some things that used to bother or stress me, I now don't even spend a minute thinking about them. These are things that many people see as important things. What is important to me now is my family, my friends and myself.

So have I found Love ?
Well that's a hard question even to myself. Yes I have loved many times. Love conquers all and it gives another point for living. Even though I can fal in love very easy, I now hold back myself and am very careful. I can't handle another big loss of whatever form so I must be very certain before I offer my heart to someone :) ... 'nuff said :P
Who are my friends?
The following people are the ones that I can proudly call my REAL FRIENDS. They are special ones who I love. They are the ones who know the real Me, love me for who I am, they are the ones with who I share my life and with whom we will always stay together no matter what! They are the one who keep me going stronger :)
