The Wall
Released: November 1979
This double album is one of the biggest concepts ever recorded as a music album. Purely a Roger Waters work. The concept being about a person's 'feelings of isolation from others and the barriers which potentially exist between all of us'. This album is a genuine masterpiece of our century. It has reached number ONE in the US charts and number three in the UK. Highlights of this album is that Wright was not part of the Floyd anymore following arguments with the now over-obsessive and aggressive Waters. The album was soon followed by THE WALL film which has no narration but solely the music of the album.
My favourite pieces in order of appearance in the album are: 'The happiest days of Our Lives' , ' Another Brick in the Wall 2' , 'Empty Spaces' , Hey You' , 'Comfortably Numb'.
This album has so much to write about that i think it should be better to go to this excellent link that I have found in the Floyd Web Ring. It analyses each one of the songs in great depth:
