The Division Bell

Released: March 1994

This is the last studio album that Floyd have made and probably but NOT hopefully the last. This album is modern Floyd but yet it lacks Rogers touching lyrics. On the other hand it is favoured with Dave's guitar and melody. We also see their old accomplice Dick Parry, the saxophonist taking part in the album. The general theme of this album is that of a 'communication gone wrong'. One of the albums highlights is the last song of the album: HIGH HOPES, which according to many it is Dave's answer to the much earlier 'Grantchester Meadows' of Roger. This does not undermine the fact that it is one of the best Floyd songs EVER. The album has reached number ONE in both the UK and US charts.

Shortly after the album's release Floyd fans were faced with one of biggest mysteries they were ever to encounter known as the 'PUBLIUS ENIGMA'. In a few words there were certain postings in Floyd newsgroups by a mystery person about a big Enigma Competition promising big reward to the one who solved it. The identity of the person behind this is still not certain and Floyd have refused any connection or knowledge. However certain actions ,such as the word PUBLIUS appearing in the light show of the 1994 Floyd tour imply the connection of either some Floyd member and/or some close engineer/associate. I have the logs of all the Publius Enigma emails, progress, sightings, pictures and the SOLUTION itself. If you want to have them e-mail me or come and talk to me in IRC Undernet.
